Kevin co-founded AlgarVirtue in 1995 to become a leading-edge financial services firm with an unparalleled level of professionalism. He is recognized as an innovator in the financial services industry and was responsible for the overall direction of the firm.

As a professional and entrepreneur, he provides high-level advice to clients on a broad range of topics. He advises from a position of experience, as well as deep and broad knowledge. He loves finding new ways to add value to clients’ complex lives.

Kevin was born into a long line of entrepreneurs and is a proud 3rd generation Albertan and a 5th generation Canadian. He is married and a very proud father of three children.

He loves to be active (when his body permits!), including golfing and biking. He is a competent mariner and particularly enjoys boating on Canada’s beautiful West Coast.

He thrives on good music, good food and fine wine and art, especially when these are all mixed together with friends and family. He still plans to become a passable drummer, although Rob hasn’t booked him for any events yet.

Rob joined AlgarVirtue in 2006 and is the firm’s Vice President, leading Operations in the Calgary office. His role and responsibilities, and his passion, is to simplify complexity and deliver efficiency and effectiveness — internally, as well as with our clients externally. Additionally, he is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the firm’s marketing, communications and public relations.

Rob began his career in financial services in 2003, working as a Financial Advisor at Desjardins Financial Security. In his role, he supported both investment management client service teams. In 2005, Rob was introduced to Kevin, and the two quickly realized that they shared similar business values and a vision for how clients’ pursuits — their needs, goals and aspirations — could be managed to achieve desired outcomes.

A born-and-raised Calgarian, Rob is an integral part of the immediate and extended community. He is married with two daughters, and enjoys spending time with his family skiing through the winter and camping in the summer.

Rob is a professional musician, and both manages and plays the bass guitar with One Nite Band, which specializes in local event performances. Rob’s passion for music is also shared by his wife and children, who have been encouraging him to develop his vocal talents. This has proven to be more challenging than anyone could have anticipated.

Angela is focused on understanding a family’s unique situation in the preparation and implementation of their customized financial plan.

Angela joined AlgarVirtue in 2015. Her keen interest in financial matters along with her desire to build a solid foundation, helped her quickly achieve some significant financial education milestones. She was awarded both her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designations within a 5-year period — a rather remarkable achievement, especially given there were two additions to her family over the same time.

Born and raised in Calgary, Angela has travelled extensively and lived in several places around the world, including Herstmonceaux, England; Taipei, Taiwan; and Victoria, Canada. One of her most firmly held beliefs is that we cannot fully appreciate and understand our personal experiences until we have listened to the experiences of a wide range of other people.

Angela has a young family at home that keeps her very busy. When she’s not at the office, she can be found either at a playpark or on the floor at home, playing with building blocks.

With an outgoing personality and a knack for keeping everything humming along smoothly, Ada is a guru of process, efficiency and organization.

Nothing happens without Ada knowing about it. Ever.

Ada joined AVA in 2015 and she has become an invaluable member of the team. She makes sure things are where they are supposed to be for our families, continually looking for new and innovative ways to enhance the AlgarVirtue client experience.

Originally from Prince Edward Island, Ada is a gregarious, adventurous soul whose love for sports and the outdoors can take over her time away from the office. Whether it is inline skating from Edworthy to Eau Claire, slo-pitch on Sundays or getting in a round of golf, she enjoys a healthy work/life balance. Interestingly, you’ll never see Ada at a seafood restaurant. Go figure.

Animals are a huge passion of Ada's, especially her two bulldogs, Storm and Baby. When you are in the office, ask to see pictures and she will happily show you any one of the more than 200 readily available.
